The Cost of a Cake
As a guideline for shoppers, here is our best shot at answering a very ambiguous question: How much does a cake cost? This depends on each of these variable items:
- Size for the number of servings you would like to have
- The time to design & develop. This takes extra time unless you already have an exact picture of the cake you want.
- Custom colors, which we mix by hand
- Baking, splitting, filling, and assembly
- Decorations
- The time to box and prepare your cake for delivery. Outdoor weddings, especially in the heat of the summer, take extra time and care - be prepared for this risk. For extra precaution, we have insulated covers that can be rented.
Cakes with several colors and considerable amounts of artwork will naturally cost the most. For a quick estimate on an average cake, decide on the number of servings desired and multiply $4.00 per serving. For sculptured cakes (beyond 2 dimensions) multiply $6.00 per serving. Delivery in the Tri-City area is $35 or $1.25 per mile from our kitchen elsewhere. We also provide pick up of our equipment at the end of your party -- the best money you will spend. If you are brave enough to pick up your cake and save the delivery cost - it will be F.O.B. Repair costs are simply not worth taking this chance with a large cake. Small cakes are packaged for pickup.
We hope all this information is helpful, especially to the mega shoppers whom we frequently see probing for the best deals. We encourage you to compare our website with other bakeries and match your cake budget with the rest of your party.
