Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my cake cost?
This depends on the size and design, time, materials, and the skill level needed to make the cake. Artwork and colors are usually 1/3 of the cost of an average size cake that serves 120 guests. The average cost is $4 per serving plus delivery.

When should I come in for a consultation?
You should meet with us after reading the website, deciding on your budget, design, and type cake you desire. You are welcome to visit our consultation room to look over our large collection of sample pictures. Our business hours are Monday - Friday 9am-12pm & 1:30pm-5pm. Weekends are available by appointment only. Contact us.

Does the consultation and cake tasting cost anything?
Your consultation is FREE! Cake samples are $10 for 10-12 flavors, while they are available. If you put down a deposit to buy a cake from us, the tasting is FREE!

How early should I schedule a consultation?
We reccomend scheduling a consultation 1 year before the event, or 6 months before if you have decided on the design of the cake. Booking early is always best, as Saturdays book out first. If you work during the day, or do not live in the area, we are happy to accomadate you with a meeting after hours.

Do you make other cakes besides wedding cakes?
Yes! Our focus is on elaborate cakes that demand a highly trained pastry artist. Our sheet cakes are of the best quality, and cost $45 for a quarter sheet (serves 20-24) and $65 for a half sheet (serves 40-48). Prices are subject to change without notice.

Will it cost extra if I wait until the last week before my event to order my cake?
Unfortunately, we will most likely be unable to provide a cake for your event. For a wedding or quincenera cake that is more than 1 tier, we need at least 1 month minimum to design the cake. Artwork takes time; special toppers and flowers can take up to 2 months to make. Plan ahead and order at least 2 months before your event. Our peak season is from May to October, and Saturdays book out quickly.

How big is a serving size?
The wedding cake business has set a general standard serving of approximately 4 inches high by 1 inch wide and 2 inches long.

How many servings will I need for my event?
Start with this rule of thumb: 80% of your guests will eat cake. Subtract 10% more if you are serving a buffet meal, and another 10% if you are serving alcohol. Outdoor weddings in the Summer heat also reduce the number of servings.
